Thank the Muppets and all the children's stories for that, because frog translates to "ră", which is a female noun, whereas toad translates to "sapo", which is a male noun. So the poor princess always kisses a toad. ~:P
Also, "to swallow a toad" is to put up with a very unpleasant situation, because we need/want something else (like putting up with rude customers in order to keep a job).
So I guess I'd be swallowing a lot of toads in order to find an enchanted Prince (forget about the King, he's too kitch), which lately I'm not really inclined to do. ~:(
