Ace gives a one shoulder shrug at Leeson's refusal of the chip, smiles in a "okie dokie" manner, & returns it to a pocket.
To the Dwarf's comments about the nature of the data on the chip Ace shakes his head with a rueful smirk & replies:
"Nah, nothing on the UnderWorld yet. I'm still exploring the surface s4 so far. I think I'd like the chance to roam with you though, since a guide with a clue is always preferable to bumbling about blindly."
When Block introduces the two of them to Leeson, Ace smiles & gives a golf wave of one hand.
"I like to say it's because I'm an ''Ace In The Hole'', but my friends tease me that it's for ''Ace-hole'' instead."
At Leeson's inquiry about betting on the Hunt, Ace shakes his head with an almost forlorn expression before answering.
"Haven't got any cred on any of it unfortunately. Maybe if I had any to spare, but then that's why I'm on this Run in the first place. I need the cred."
At Block's question about having placed any bets, Ace shakes his head emphaticly as he replies.
"Not a chance. First meet with a Mister Johnson and not knowing the rules of the game? Nah, I can't afford to ''go there'' in either the real nor metaphysical sense. Nope, no bets from me."
At Block's comment of:
"The only guy that would give me the time of day wanted us to keep the hunter that was working this area from even showing to compete, tonight. I told him I was a medic, but I guess he wanted a spotter."
:Ace nods & aims a thumb at his friend before backing him up.
"Watch, Report, & add some nonlethal sand into the gears of the Hunter's ability TO hunt at all. Something that stopped him from accomplishing the hunt without killing him in the process.
I'm a Driver & they're paying me NOT to. Whatever, as long as they DO pay me when it's over."
At Block's bit about:
"We're up here, thinking maybe we could spot something that just wasn't visible down at street level."
: Ace smiles, nods, & takes another quick peek back over the parapet before ducking back down.

"It's almost always better to find the highest perch to watch from, but if you go too high then you may miss finer details a lower branch might reveal."
As he says this he indicates the surrounding buildings & their multi-level rooftops both above & below the height of the one they're on now.
"This was a good compromise between the height advantage for a wider field of view, & still down close enough to the street to notice s4 we might miss from one of the taller perches."
At X's message Ace pretends to look at his decoy ComLink in hand, taking it on his internal one instead.
A couple of finger jabs at the screen to mimic having done something & he sends back over the encrypted "Group To All" channel:
"One. Three. Copy. Out."
As Block tells Leeson of X's message, Ace risks another quick up & down over the parapet to look around.
As he starts to do it he gives a mental FacePalm "DOH!" and remembers to link the video from his contact lenses ((Flare Compensation, ImageLink, & SmartLink)) through his decoy ComLink to his internal
one for later review if necessary.
((Perception: 6, 6, 5, 2, 1, 6, 1, 6, 4.))
When Block makes the quip about cheaters, Ace snorts like a bull trying to muffle a sneeze.
"I guess that's why we're here, to help force his butt to play by the rules? Hell, who knows. Whatever, just as long as I live long enough to get paid & make the rent this month..."
Ace takes a deep breath & reviews the recording from his last quick peek.
While he does so he asks Leeson in a friendly tone: "Ok, if my list of eateries isn't something you can use, what would be more useful to you?"
Ace makes a sweeping gesture towards the circle of debris forming the circle & the bits that he can't distinguish from simple trash.
"I have no clue about the magic stuff, but if there's another way to repay you for not kicking my hoop off the roof then I'd like to do so..."
Over the encrypted "Group To All" channel via his internal ComLink he sends both the aforementioned trideo clip & the following message:
"Primary. Three. Roof encounter probable Shaman. Downgrade from Hostile to Wary. Maintaining surveilance from current position. Out."
He turns to Block & sighs in mock consternation: "You know what sucks? Now I really DO crave some bbq wings. A big ol' plate piled high with 'em & a tall, frothy mug of something ice cold & caffeinated. Damn..."
