...Cables using dangerously limited wiring knowledge: I knew that there there were only 2 pairs used on pins 1, 2, 3, and 6. Therefore, I only crimped those pins in the RJ-45 plugs. As it was only 10Mb/s, it worked. Later, I learned the 'proper' standard (I still have the cheat-sheet in my card file), and have created many (many, many, many ...) functioning cables since then.
