I got bored one day and created the User friendly Firefox extension.
There is also a Chrome version now available, the ID9k creation feature for chrome is a separate extension.
The extension can highlight new board posts since last reload and ones with specified text in the subject/poster names (e.g. your username).
It also has features to make it easier to create ID9k links and html board posts.

I also created a quick hack that adds a Duplicate Tab option to the firefox context menu.
In chrome just right click on the tab for the same function.

email : aka.[myusername] at google mail is generally your best bet.
uf at [myusername] dot org dot uk is checked less often but is available for those wishing to avoid the google data collection system.
