Wooooooooooo man, it has been a while since I have been here 8-S, my last update was "Thu Jun 27 06:13:08 2002", that is almost a year and a half ago. May, 9th - 2002 (just past midnight, as always)
Telling something about yourself... To be honest, that is exactly what I disliked bout camp and
stuff when I was (just) a kid. You know what I mean, the beginning of
the very first day and you have to present yourself. You get 30
seconds to a minute to tell who you are and what you do. Like a person
has only the value of one minute of time. And of course - here's
Murphy again - you forget stuff. Well Im glad this aint camp, I always
have the possibility to alter this 'diary'. But like thru camp, you
can learn to know people, and I hope this will be the case :). So pls
do not see me only as the things or personalities that Im summing up
here, that really won't do. For instance: my favourite kind of music is
'melodical' metal (the Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Nightwish, ... kind, but hell
no NU metal, thats only noise...), but believe me, I ain't got long hair, Im
not rough or diabolic. Its just the kind of music that I prefer. Dont
put people into boxes, everybody is an individual. I also like
rock, Queen, surf and classical music (my favorite is Oh Fortuna of
Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, Tjaikovski, Strauss Jr., ...). This list
is -as you all know- never complete, so pls do not pin me on
this little list.
Hmm, this is sounding a bit to much as a manifesto... I better quit.
Just
one more thing and this is all over:
I really dont like 'commercial' music. (mostly) Their only goal is
to get as high as possible in the Hit Charts, and that music is 'tuned' to what people
want to hear. What I really hate about those 'commercial' songs, is that they have no
'subject', its nothing about, it has no soul, no meaning.
ok, now a bit bout myself:
So, I am a 20 years old student of Informatics at a Belgian university. My heart
belongs to creation, thats probably why I am so fond of programming, writing,
drawing and playing music. Im a guitar player, but not self-taught (thx LeiraHoward for correcting this grammatical mistake). I've
had classical instructions for nine years (which I finished in 1999) by my maestro
Erik (great man, great
guitar player, thx Erik, you've helped me explore another level of expression).
Besides music and programming, I like to ski. Its been 3 years now since the last
time that I have practiced this artlike sport - with my studies and all, it
just was to complicated - but I hope to start again soon. Ive been skiing for over
ten years now, and Im sure that its addictive, every time I see snow or people skiing
on television, I am kind of 'homesick' to the mountains and to this great sport.
I bow to the skigods :D.
Just like those old campdays, I cant think of anything else to
