User Friendly Comment Board FAQ
So you were perusing the net and came across a comic strip called User Friendly. You laughed over it everyday and finally one day you decided you were going to click on the link that said "Comment on this cartoon". Suddenly you were confronted with a message board full of strange and interesting people talking about all manner of things. Wanting to know more, you clicked on the FAQ link to discover what it's all about, and now here you are. That being the case, we should probably start with:
Welcome to the User Friendly Comment Board. This board was created to let the community of people who enjoy the User Friendly comic strip get together and talk about anything from the day's cartoon to world politics.
We have noticed occasionally comments or questions are posted multiple times on the board by well-meaning newfies (people new to the User Friendly board) so we have created this FAQ hopefully to answer the most common of those questions. If you don't find the answer you are looking for here please feel free to email the moderators, the User Friendly staff or post your question on the board. If you have questions about the User Friendly comic, rules for linking, cartooning, or Illiad himself, you can also look in the general FAQ for User Friendly.
Why an FAQ? Well after a while, you start to see quite a few of the same types of questions being posted over and over and over (hence Frequently Asked Questions) so there seems to be a need to make sure they are answered. Also, there are some general guidelines for the UF Community which do need to be spelled out. Basically, the most important things to remember are:
- This is a free comment board (unless you happen to be a paying member, more on that later).
- Illiad does not have to do this, but he does. You may not find everything he does funny, because everyone's sense of humour is different, but if you didn't like something he did you probably wouldn't be here.
Finally, in the imortal words of FidoNet founder Ken Kaplan:
Don't be annoying and don't be easily annoyed
